Ocean Hotel

Moving onto another location on a weekend exploring trip away to the Isle of Wight, the Ocean Hotel made for a welcome break from the December wind and cold.

After scoping out access and swiftly making our way inside, we quickly determined that large sections of the upper floors were inaccessible, however a nice surprise of old bottles still in the basement store rooms made for some interesting shots.

Dating back almost 100 years the Ocean Hotel has housed author Lewis Carroll and Charles Darwin among others who have stayed at the hotels 96 bedrooms.

The hotel, originally in good condition, was sold to the Carlauren Group along with neighboring buildings with local belief it was to become a luxury care home. However instead, the buildings became derelict after falling into liquidation.
