Heading from nearby St Margaret’s Deep Shelter, onto Lyden Spout Shelter and the odd surface level feature from the remains of the Battery.
Knowing this was here but not knowing where to look, saw us another trip across the country to Dover to check out a deep level shelter with the most fun yet potentially dangerous entrance.
With multiple Uber drivers refusing to take us to the middle of nowhere, we made our way on foot to what we thought was only a small number of air raid shelters. We were in for a nice surprise!
After a long drive stuck on the glorious M25 for hours on end, the Grove air raid shelters were nearby so took my chance for a quick solo mooch.
Returning from another location and giving up on numerous en route, feeling tired and cold we decided to stop at a rumor of air raid shelters.
UPDATE!! February 24, 2016 (Scroll to the bottom!)
After hearing rumours of this place undergoing works I thought I would go see what was going on as I was in the area. On approach my jaw hit the floor with the horrors of what used to be Sovereign House, it’s gone! Is it wrong to feel slightly emotionally attached to a bunker that kick started my love for urbex when I was a kid?
